Bobby McFerrin cancelled all concerts in the coming months – changes in the ICE Jazz series
“Due to chronic vocal weakness and general fatigue, Bobby McFerrin has called off his concerts in the coming months – including the ICE Kraków Congress centre appearance on the 11th of June” – reads the official announcement made by Bobby McFerrin’s management. After 6 years of the artist’s absence from Krakow, his fans have to remain patient. The new start date of the artist’s world tour is still unknown. The concert schedule in the ICE Jazz cycle is changing. Tickets for the ICE Jazz: Bobby McFerrin concert may be returned at the locations they were purchased.
On the 11th of June at 9 PM (on the day of the planned Bobby McFerrin concert) another duel-show will be presented at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre – ICE Jazz: Lakatos – Bałdych. Two violin virtuosos – Roby Lakatos and Adam Bałdych – will face off before the audience. Lakatos is one of the world’s violin virtuosos – known for his “fiery” arrangements of classical, jazz and pop music. His performance of Vittorio Monti’s “Csárdás” is considered to be the most spectacular in history. Krakow music lovers have been able to find out for themselves during several concerts in the capital of the Małopolska region. Adam Bałdych in turn is one of the most popular young jazzmen abroad – a fantastic violinist who combines classical jazz with fusion and world music – constantly discovering and exploring new musical territories. The Pole is the laureate of the prestigious 2013 European ECHO Jazz award and many other awards. For several years, he has been voted best violinist in the “Jazz Top” list of the Jazz Forum magazine.
Each artist will perform solo projects in the first part of the concert, and the two will present their skill and artistry as a duet in the finale. The presence of an international gathering of artists is a guarantee of the highest quality performance.
