Dianne Reeves – Grammy 2015 winner
The Śródmieście Cultural Centre in Krakow invites you to a concert of DIANNE REEVES – the winner of the GRAMMY 2015 award in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category! The concert will take place in the Auditorium Hall of the ICE Kraków already in October!
Dianne Reeves is one of the absolutely top jazz vocalists alongside Diana Krall and Cassandra Wilson. She is the only artist who has won Grammy for three years in a row. Her interpretations of hits like Lovin You or Summertime and a brilliant soundtrack for the film Good Night, and Good Luck won the hearts of not only jazz fans. An extremely gifted singer with an incredible sense of rhythm, she moves the audience with original atmospheric ballads. She has recorded eighteen albums and has performed in the most prestigious concert halls of the world. She has been accompanied on stage by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Wynton Marsalis’ big band Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. She sang at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
Dianne’s Polish performance will be a part of Marcin Kydryński’s project Siesta w drodze [Siesta on the Road], which presents the most interesting artists known from Kydryński’s programme Siesta in Polish Radio 3.
In the ICE Kraków, she will sing her greatest hits as well as songs from her latest album Beautiful Life, which immediately became a gold album in Poland and won a Grammy award in the USA.
The vocalist will be accompanied by excellent musicians: Peter Martin, Romero Lubambo, Reginald Veal and Terreon Gully.
Peter Martin, an American jazz pianist, collaborated with Dianne Reeves during the recording of a soundtrack for George Clooney’s film Good Night, and Good Luck. He performed alongside famous artists like Chris Botti or Wynton Marsalis. Romero Lubambo, a Brazilian guitar virtuoso, creates original sounds by blending native music with American jazz. He has accompanied Dianne Reeves since the mid-1990s, and the vocalist calls him her musical brother. The bassist Reginald Veal has also played with the best musicians, so his presence at the side of the jazz diva is not surprising. The energetic American drummer Terreon Gully feels at ease with almost every musical style, from funk, fusion, drum and bass, rhythm & blues to hip-hop and gospel. This select line-up of musicians is a guarantee of an excellent musical fiesta.
