Glenn Miller’s musical world coming soon to Poland!
The most popular BIG BAND in the world! The band which is famous for performing with such stars as: Frank Sinatra, Johnny Desmond or Erik Delaney. Their prestigious performances are based on brilliant and high precision sounding instrument sections, played exactly as at the beginning of the last century. The Glenn Miller Orchestra has had the privilege to play for millions around the world. This year, at the turn of December, the ensemble will play in Krakow. The orchestra, composed of the world’s best instrumentalists, led by great Wil Salden, will perform their incredible show. The original programme changes the stage into the birthplace of the music at the beginning of the 20th century. We will listen to the most famous pieces dating back to various periods of Glenn Miller’s professional and creative life, including: In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Pennsylvania 6-5000, At Last, A String of Pearls or American Patrol.
Each musician or composer dreams about creating an absolutely distinct sound, which will be immediately recognizable after a few first notes – these words from the founder of the orchestra, Glenn Miller, became a powerful inspiration for Wil Salden. He was nominated for the post of the Orchestra’s lead conductor in recognition of the many years of his work for the ensemble and his engagement. He is a perfectionist and demands the same of each member of the orchestra. It was this approach to his work that earned him the highest prize – public admiration and esteem.
The sentimental ballad Moonlight Serenade, is played note by note as was desired by Glenn Miller. It is the showcase of the ensemble’s world of music. The elegant musicians enjoy playing their music immensely. One can tell that they love their emotional jazz. The history of the orchestra consists of many years of concert activity and achievements that are envied across the artistic world. Even the Beatles or Elvis Presley could not boast of so many hits reaching the top of the music charts. The ensemble has completed dozens of concert tours for which tickets sold out in just one day! It is the only orchestra that performs on most of the days of the year, playing nearly 300 concerts annually and travelling to the most distant places of the world. The Glenn Miller Orchestra has performed all over the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Southern America, Japan and in the Philippines.
