INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE OF ARCHITECTURE IN KRAKOW 2015
The International Biennale of Architecture in Krakow is a regular event organised since 1985. Every successive edition was a unique forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences for architects from around the world. The accompanying competitions, presentations and lectures are a unique attraction for everyone connected with architecture in this part of Europe. Join us at ICE Kraków on the 15th and 16th of October 2015.
The unique character of this cultural event is emphasised by its setting. Krakow is a city recognisable in all of Europe. It owes its success to the historical heritage, the most important part of which is architecture. In the city, there is an ongoing rivalry between the old and the new, the historic with the modern, the conservative with the avant-garde. Architectural debate seems to be written into the essence of the city itself.
This year’s edition of the Biennale is dedicated to the issues of urban space and its accessibility to residents. It will be an opportunity to establish public discourse about the architectural needs of Krakow, with due consideration of its unique, exceptional history and rich architectural heritage. The principal focus of this year’s edition is summed up by its motto: THE HUMAN DMENSION OF URBAN SPACE.
The event is organised by:
- The Association of Polish Architects (SARP), Krakow Branch
- The City of Krakow
- ICE Kraków Congress Centre (operator: Krakow Festival Office)
