The incredible jazz vocalist, called Frank Sinatra’s successor, will perform on the 10th of April at ICE Kraków!
Matthew Dusk is a Canadian jazz-swing singer. In 1998, he won the Canadian National Exhibition Rising Star Competition, beating out 654 other participants. He studied music in Toronto with John Gittins, Bob Fenton and Oscar Peterson himself. Dusk received the Oscar Peterson Scholarship and graduated with distinction.
In March 2003, he signed on with Decca Records. In 2004, he released the holiday album Peace on Earth. His debut album, Two Shots was released in 2005. The album contained the hit “Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad”, written in honour of Frank Sinatra by Bono and The Edge from U2. In January 2006, Dusk recorded his next album, Back in Town, with a 58-person orchestra in Los Angeles. The record was a mix of jazz standards as well as new songs. In 2009, he released the album Good News, which reached gold status very quickly.
In 2013, another album was released, titled My Funny Valentine: The Chet Baker Songbook, containing a collection of compositions from the jazzman’s repertoire.
In 2015, Matt Dusk released a studio album, Just the Two of Us, recorded with Polish singer Margaret.
