MEETINGS STAR AWARD 2015 FOR ICE KRAKÓW!
The international MEETINGS STAR AWARD 2015 is a distinction awarded for comprehensive activities and notable achievements in the meeting industry, venue marketing and event promotion in Central and Eastern Europe. ICE Kraków Congress Centre won the first place in the CONVENTION CENTRES category.
In the MEETINGS STAR AWARD competition, convention centres and hotels are assessed by “secret congress guests”. They are a group of specialists with at least 15 years of experience in the meeting industry and extensive knowledge on organising events, conforming to the standards upheld by international associations - (DIN – Deutsche Industrie Norm, ICCA – International Congress and Convention Association, IAPCO – International Association of Professional Congress Organisers, APEX – Accepted Practice Exchange, AIPC – International Association of Congress Centres, MPI – Meetings Professionals International), of which ICE Kraków is a member, namely ICCA, AIPC and MPI.
“According to the principles of the competition, the jury submits candidates and evaluate venues at their own initiative. The fact that we did not submit ICE Kraków as a recommended venue only confirms that our activities are visible not only in Poland – it is noticed and appreciated worldwide”, said Izabela Helbin, director of the Krakow Festival Office, operator of ICE Kraków Congress Centre. “It is a perfect promotion for Krakow and a great reward for our hard work in 2015”, Helbin added.
What does the assessment of the venue and its services look like? The jury visits selected congress centres and hotels unannounced and note their observations and insights on elaborate forms, they add photographs and videos confirming impartiality and authenticity of all claims. ICE Kraków scored 4.88 on a 5-point scale, which placed the venue in the most prestigious LUXURY category. The Polish congress centre won against venues in Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Serbia and Turkey.
The competition is organised by KONGRES magazine – a leading periodical in the meeting industry in the so-called New Europe, based in Slovenia. It reaches over 53000 specialists (5000 printed copies, 38000 copies in digital distribution, mainly in Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and Slovenia). The magazine focuses on building a strong position of Central and Eastern Europe on the map of the meeting industry worldwide as a member of the IMRN – International Meetings Review.
The award for ICE Kraków Congress Centre will be handed over on the 20th of January 2016 in Ljubljana during 8th edition of the New European Exhibition CONVENTA – an event for representatives of meeting and incentive travel industry, as well as event organisers, taking place in the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.
