PROTONY 2015 – ICE KRAKÓW AWARDED
Protony are prizes awarded since 2007 to communication professionals, who efficiently move about in the subject of Public Relations and widely-defined marketing. In this year’s edition, Michał Zalewski, a new media and PR specialist for ICE Kraków, took second place in the category Debut in PR (an employee under 30 years of age, with less than two years with a company or institution).
The jury awards specialists who contribute to the success of the companies the work for. The candidates nominated in the competition were judged by members of the PR Experts Academy, which is formed by renowned specialists working for many years in the PR industry. The winners of this year’s edition were announced during a gala awards ceremony, which took place on the 11th of June 2015 in Warsaw. More about the contest can be found HERE.
The Electronic Media and PR department is a team of people who on a daily basis deal with the transfer of information, contact with the media and the innovative use of new media. Employees of the department ensure that the Krakow Festival Office and the events it organises are publicised in the press, television and radio. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are parts of their everyday life – thousands or photos and posts every month about festivals, concerts, and business, academic and cultural events. The EMPR department is also responsible for the information policy of ICE Kraków.
A next generation public institution
The Congress Centre has been active in social media for several years, despite the inauguration of operations taking place only on 16th October 2014. Even before the official opening of the site, Facebook users could follow the construction progress and the efforts of the team working on promoting the Centre. Currently, through this medium, you can keep track of the current operations of the institution and the events taking place at ICE Kraków, as well as get to know the wider context of the activities of the local meetings industry.
The activities of the team responsible for the image of the property was also recognised in the Kryształy PR competition, organiser as part of the PR in Local Government and Public Administration conference (recognition in the Best Social Media Campaign category) and during Social Media Convent 2015 – a Congress Centre promotional campaign was presented in the Case Study Festival competition. The ICE Kraków Instagram profile currently has more than 1,000 followers. It is one of the most active conference and cultural centre accounts in Poland.
Video materials on YouTube are available on the channel of the operator of ICE Kraków, the Krakow Festival Office.
Thanks for the innovative approach and creativity, ICE Kraków has been recognised by such portals as NapoleonCan and wirtualnemedia.pl, which invited the Congress Centre to participate in the largest Polish Instagram research. The event organised specially for fans of the site – #icekrakowinstameet – was taken into account (find out more about the event HERE)
