See how ICE Krakow grows!
Spring is just around the corner. Auspicious weather conditions made it possible to resume the construction of the ICE Krakow Congress Centre. – Anyone with an access to the Internet can now have a look at the construction site – says Izabela Helbin, Director of the Krakow Festival Office. You can go to the 'See ICE/Webcam' tab at www.icekrakow.pl and admire the view from the camera mounted on the roof of the Park Inn by Radisson Krakow Hotel.
The construction works are gradually taking on momentum. Construction teams have already anchored the slurry wall; earthworks conducted down to the level of 8.5 m underground are also nearly finished. Currently, the bottom slab is being stilted (the structure will contain more than 1500 stilts); this will take until the end of April 2012. The construction of the so-called level zero, that is, the building of two underground floors of the parking lot, will last until the end of October. This will be followed by the construction of the above-ground storeys and the roof – this stage is scheduled to be complete by October 2013.
A reminder: the centre currently under construction near Rondo Grunwaldzkie will be an elegant building designed to host concerts and conferences, meeting the requirements of international congress organisations, as well as the highest standards of acoustics and spectacle mechanics. The centre was designed by K. Ingarden, J. Ewý Architekci Sp. z o.o. and Arata Isozaki & Associates. ICE Krakow is operated by the Krakow Festival Office and the project is being co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the Małopolska Regional Operating Programme 2007-2013.
