The Fiddler on the Roof in the ICE Kraków Congress Center
The Fiddler on the Roof is a legend of contemporary musical theatre. After its premiere on the Broadway in 1964, it achieved enormous success and was performed countless times on stages worldwide. Joseph Stein’s and Jerry Bock’s musical is an adaptation of Sholem Aleichem’s book which told the story of a Jewish family exiled from their home shtetl in Tsarist Russia.
Once unchallenged norms are collapsing and the tradition that used to regulate family life is increasingly losing importance. The protagonist Tevye who lives with his wife and five daughters in Anatevka is a poor dairyman who retains his equanimity in the face of all adversities and difficulties owing to his faith, hope and prayers. However, he is forced to make choices between his respect for tradition and the happiness of his children. In this, he is helped by his natural cheer and faith that the world is harmonious.
With the musical’s great cast of actors, beautiful music, funny lyrics and great live orchestra, you will have an amazing evening.
