The GREAT RETURN OF THE SUKHISHVILI GEORGIAN NATIONAL BALLET
The Sukhishvili Georgian National Ballet is returning to ICE Kraków. After the spectacularly successful appearance at the beginning of 2015, the 500-dancer ensemble with its own orchestra will perform again at the Auditorium Hall! During its history, the company has toured over 250 times, they’ve visited 88 countries on 5 continents 11 times, performed 12,300 times for over 7 million viewers altogether. In February of 2016, they will dance at ICE Kraków!
The unique dance show will have 100 dancers and an orchestra on stage. The ballet has been called a “national treasure” and a “precious jewel” all around the world. The ensemble’s performance was named the “best show on Broadway” and in Australia, it was considered the eighth wonder of the world! At La Scala, one of the most famous stages of the world, the curtain was raised 14 times after a concert – beating Caruso’s record (11 times).
The Sukhishvili Georgian National Ballet was established in 1945 and became the first professional dance ensemble in Georgia. The Sukhishvili dynasty has directed the team for three generations and over 70 years. Thanks to the Sukhishvili family, the art of the Georgian national dance developed actively and gained truly global fame.
