The Viennese with Sinfonietta will play in ICE Kraków again!

In a few days, we will experience another event presenting the mastery of Austrian musicians and works by composers connected with Vienna. The new cycle The Viennese with Sinfonietta was started in ICE Kraków at the end of the previous year, thereby inaugurating the concert activity of the Theatre Room of the Congress Centre. The event is co-organised by the City of Krakow, Sinfonietta Cracovia and the Krakow Festival Office.

A special guest of the project that will be presented to the audience of ICE Krakow in February will be Rainer Honeck – the concertmaster of the famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, a conductor, a soloist and an appreciated chamber musician, known particularly for his unusual sensitivity to the tone colour and the quality of sound of the orchestra in interpretations of Mozart’s works.

During the concert, Rainer Honeck will act in a triple role. First, as the concertmaster, Honeck will conduct the overture from The Marriage of Figaro, then he will perform Violin Concerto No. 5 A Major as a soloist, and in the second part of the evening he will be the conductor of the famous Symphony No. 40 G Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The artist plays the Stradivarius instrument ‘ex Hämmerle’ from 1709, by courtesy of the National Bank of Austria.
